- dehydration or exhaustion;

Supporters of the case have argued that hospital X-rays showed old tuberculosis scarring had disappeared and that previously diagnosed kidney stones were no longer present after the incident. What the physical evidence ultimately shows
Viewed cautiously, the physical evidence supports only a limited number of conclusions with reasonable confidence.
Higdon genuinely disappeared for several hours during an elk hunt. He was recovered in an impaired state, required hospital assessment and appears to have experienced a period of significant confusion and memory disturbance. His truck was found in difficult terrain and needed assistance to recover. The leap from those facts to an alien abduction depends on much weaker evidence. Likewise, the reported disappearance of tuberculosis scars and kidney stones remains based on repeated testimony rather than independently accessible medical records.
Within Wyoming’s UFO history, Higdon’s physical clues therefore occupy an intermediate position. They make the case more substantial than a simple anecdotal sighting because there was a real search, a documented recovery and genuine medical treatment. At the same time, the surviving evidence does not establish that those physical facts require an extraordinary explanation, leaving the encounter unresolved rather than confirmed.
